Sharkk Heartt
Songwriter Lara Ruggles performs charming and soulful folk songs and simmering electro-pop anthems as Sharkk Heartt. Her vocals have been compared to Florence and the Machine, Sarah McLachlan, and Shakira, and her sound is similar to Sharon Van Etten, Sylvan Esso or London Grammar. She can play three sets of original music with distinct characterizations and instrumentation, as well as a limited repertoire of cover songs. Ruggles has shared the stage with grammy-winner Leann Rimes and toured with Colorado poet laureate Andrea Gibson. Her music video for Work Fires won awards in 2021, and in 2023 she was selected by the National Parks Arts Foundation for a monthlong artist residency at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Sharkk Heartt can play solo, duo, trio, or with a full band.
